WELL-KLEAN© · THE PROGRAM

What is Well-Klean©?

Well-Klean© is HCT's chemical water well rehabilitation program: proprietary, corrosion-inhibited chemistry sized to each well's own data, applied by authorized dealers, and proven with a pumping test. It removes the biofilm and mineral scale that plug most declining wells instead of treating the symptoms.

Municipal, industrial, agricultural and golf course wells · NSF/ANSI/CAN 60 listed chemistry · Applied by authorized Well-Klean© dealers

WHAT WELL-KLEAN© IS

In HCT's assessments, nine out of ten declining wells are biofouled, not broken.

Most lost capacity is biofilm and mineral scale, not structural failure. Chlorine, straight acid and brushing treat what you can see; Well-Klean© removes the biofilm and the scale it protects, which is why the capacity you recover holds.

The chemistry is NSF/ANSI/CAN 60 listed and formulated in-house; spent solution is neutralized on site and disposed of under local, state and federal requirements. Every treatment plan is built from the well's analytical data, not from a drum of chemical, and users are certified by HCT.

WHY WELLS DECLINE

Three things plug a well, and they work together.

01

Biological fouling

Iron and sulfate-reducing bacteria build a polysaccharide biofilm on screens, in the gravel pack and in the near-well formation. It traps fines and scale and shields them from treatment.

02

Mineral fouling

Calcium carbonate and sulfate, iron and manganese oxides and silicate scale narrow every flow path, raise drawdown and drive up energy cost per gallon.

03

The compound effect

Each conventional rehab that treats the symptom brings shorter relief and faster decline. The symptoms show up in the well and in the budget.

THE CHEMISTRY

Three formulations. Every kind of fouling.

Well-Klean© uses three products, prescribed per well: WaterSOLV™ BC for biological fouling, Pre-blend Descaler for mineral fouling, and Concentrate for compromised casings and equipment. Use rates, soak times and sequence are written into the well-specific scope of work.

BIOREMEDIATION

WaterSOLV™ BC

An inhibited, catalyzed hydrogen peroxide that degrades the biofilm matrix; corrosion-inhibited, no neutralization step, biodegrades to oxygen and water.

SCALE DISSOLUTION

Well-Klean© Pre-blend Descaler

An inhibited, catalyzed acid blend that dissolves mineral scale in a 12-hour soak and oxide metals in 72 hours; inhibited for multi-day downhole soaks.

PROTECTION

Well-Klean© Concentrate

A corrosion inhibitor, surfactant and sequestrant added for wire-wrap steel screens, older or compromised casings and heat exchangers.

THE PROCESS

Assess. Plan. Treat. Verify.

HCT collects eight data points and a groundwater sample before any chemistry is recommended: casing alloy, age of the well, groundwater quality, water level, depth and diameter, perforation type, bacteria risk, pump depth and pumping rate. The scope is checked against HCT's empirical database, then verified in the field with a pumping test.

01

Discovery and data

The well data form and a correctly taken groundwater sample produce a preliminary assessment and quote.

02

Downhole video

Video inspection before treatment confirms the deposit and updates the scope of work.

03

Treat, neutralize, prove it

Mechanical and biological removal, descaling, neutralization, flushing, disinfection and the pumping test that documents the recovery.

CAPACITY

Pumping rates come back

Wells restored to original output, documented on the same well before and after.

COST

Rehab instead of replace

Less drawdown and lower energy per gallon extend the life of the asset.

EFFICIENCY

Sized to the well

Dose set from the well's own volume and data — typically 10–30% of system water volume for Descaler.

THOMAS WELL NO. 5

Back to 2,090 gpm

A well that pumped off at about 270 gpm after a plug-back, turned over at 2,090 gpm (27.87 gpm/ft) after Well-Klean© — 91% of its 1990 rating.

NEXT STEP

Evaluate your well.

Download the well data form, send it to HCT with a groundwater sample, and you will get back a preliminary scope built on the well's actual condition. Well-Klean© chemistry is sold and applied through authorized dealers; find the dealer for your area or contact HCT directly.
