WATERSOLV™ TURF PROGRAM

Prescription chemistry for your water and soil.

WaterSOLV™ Turf is HCT’s testing-driven program for golf, sports, and managed turf. Concentrated chemistry is injected at the pump station during normal irrigation, and each product targets a specific root cause: mineral scale, sodium, black layer, or biofilm. Water moves deeper, tied-up nutrition unlocks, and the root zone performs the way it should.

Est. 2015 · 300+ turf facilities served · No sulfuric acid, urea, or added nutrients · Testing before treatment

WHAT IS THE PROGRAM?

One program for the whole water-soil-root system, not a single product.

The symptoms superintendents bring to HCT share one cause: irrigation water carries minerals, salts, and biology that bind in the lines, the profile, and the root zone with every cycle. WaterSOLV™ Turf treats that as one system. Concentrated chemistry is injected at the pump station so every irrigation cycle conditions the water, strips bound minerals from the soil, and keeps nutrition plant-available. Targeted products handle black layer, biofilm, and problem greens. Testing decides what goes where.

WaterSOLV Curative: how scale forms and how the chemistry keeps minerals in solution

Evaporative crystals of strong acids are not redissolved by strong acids; WaterSOLV keeps calcium and magnesium soluble instead.

WHERE EACH PRODUCT ACTS IN THE SYSTEM

WATER SOURCE

Hard water, bicarbonates, sodium, chloride, and biology arrive with every irrigation.

Curative

PUMP STATION & LINES

Chemistry is injected here; scale and biofilm narrow the delivery system.

Curative · BC · FS-1 delivery

SOIL PROFILE

Bound minerals and salts fill pore space and cement the profile.

Curative · pHix (topical)

ROOT ZONE

Oxygen, biology, and nutrient availability decide how roots perform.

BC · Grow

TURF

Infiltration, rooting depth, recovery, and playability show up on the surface.

WHAT IT IS BUILT TO SOLVE

The problems usually start in the water and show up on the surface.

Each of these has its own HCT University page. Start with the one that looks like your course.

Irrigation water quality

Minerals, salts, and biology that turn reactive once water enters the profile.

How water quality affects turf →

Poor infiltration

Water that ponds, seals, or runs off instead of reaching roots.

Getting water down →

Bicarbonates & hard water

Scale, cemented soil, and locked-up nutrition as water evaporates.

Understand bicarbonates →

Bound nutrition & tight profiles

Nutrients present in the soil but locked in insoluble forms.

Stripping soils →

Sodium & chloride

Salt load that seals the profile and stresses the turf.

How sodium works against the root zone →

Black layer & biology

Biofilm, anaerobic layers, and low oxygen restricting roots and recovery.

Biology in the root zone →

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Three layers of treatment. Your pump station carries most of it.

Water is conditioned first, because every irrigation cycle either corrects the profile or adds to the problem. Soil correction follows through the same water, with topical treatment on problem greens and tees. Biological and turf support comes last.

01  ·  WATER & SYSTEM TREATMENT

Condition the irrigation water at the pump station

Curative is injected through the FS-1 flow switch at rates linear to water hardness, so dissolved minerals stay soluble instead of re-binding as scale in lines and soil. BC is added where black layer, iron slime, or sulfate-reducing bacteria are part of the problem.

Products:  Curative · BC · FS-1

02  ·  SOIL & ROOT-ZONE CORRECTION

Release what is bound and open the profile

Treated water dissolves bicarbonate, valence, and chloride bonds, restoring pore space and lowering bulk density so locked minerals become plant-available nutrition. pHix, Curative and BC in one container, is applied topically to problem greens, tees, and localized dry spots for a faster response.

Products:  Curative · pHix (topical) · BC

03  ·  BIOLOGY & TURF SUPPORT

Clean up biology and support recovery

BC biodegrades to dissolved oxygen and water for continuous chemical aeration of the root zone. Grow targets biofilm, bio-waste, root rot, fungi, and mold, adds oxygen, and converts nitrogen to nitrate so aerobic bacteria thrive and the root zone can breathe.

Products:  BC · Grow

TURF RESPONSE

Measured, not assumed: water moving down through the profile, deeper rooting, less sodium pressure without gypsum, more uniform playable surfaces, and lower water demand, confirmed by retesting.

MEET THE PRODUCTS

Four products. Each has one job in the program.

WaterSOLV operates below pH 8.0 with no sulfuric acid, urea, or added nutrients. Each product targets a different mechanism in the water and soil.

MINERAL DISSOLUTION · INJECTED

WaterSOLV™ Curative

Dissolves bicarbonate, valence, and chloride bonds, converting locked minerals and metals into soluble, plant-available nutrition before they accumulate as insoluble complexes. Detoxifies sodium and chloride, restores pore space, and lowers bulk density. One gallon displaces nine gallons of sulfuric acid.

Applied  Injected at the pump station every irrigation cycle

Best fit  Slow infiltration, bicarbonates or hardness, salt-affected irrigation, sealed or compacted profiles

PEROXIDE-BASED AERATION · INJECTED

WaterSOLV™ BC

An inhibited, catalyzed peroxide solution that treats black layer, iron slime, and sulfate-reducing bacteria. Detoxifies soluble salts and sequesters minerals and metals into available nutrition. The majority biodegrades to dissolved oxygen and water: continuous chemical aeration of the root zone.

Applied  Injected through irrigation, often alongside Curative

Best fit  Black layer or black matter, slime-related infiltration loss, hydrogen sulfide odor, anaerobic root zones

CURATIVE + BC · TOPICAL

WaterSOLV™ pHix

The power of Curative and BC in one container, and a gateway product for trial. Restores infiltration, flushes salts and biomatter, and mitigates black layer and toxicity on problem greens, tees, and localized dry spots that are not biologically compromised.

Applied  Topical, at rates near 1 gallon per acre weekly or semi-weekly

Best fit  Problem greens or tees, surface sealing, localized dry spot, spot-treatment zones

BIO-REMEDIATION · SUPPORT

WaterSOLV™ Grow

Targets biological problems: biofilm, bio-waste, root rot, fungi, mold, and yeast. Adds oxygen, detoxifies sodium, sequesters soluble salts, and converts nitrogen to nitrate. Reduces anaerobic biomatter so aerobic bacteria thrive and root zones can breathe.

Applied  Support product within a staged program, once correction is underway

Best fit  Turf recovery, low vigor, nutrient mobility, program continuation

CONVENTIONAL APPROACH

WATERSOLV™ PROGRAM

Where treatment starts

✕  Product first, then see what happens.

✓  Testing first: Legacy Analytical of your water and soil sets the product, rate, and delivery.

Acid

✕  Sulfuric acid lowers the pH reading; evaporative crystals do not redissolve.

✓  Curative keeps minerals soluble; one gallon displaces nine gallons of sulfuric acid.

Sodium

✕  Gypsum and heavy flushing that depend on a profile that can already move water.

✓  Restores infiltration first; users report reduced sodium issues without gypsum.

Black layer and biology

✕  Chlorine disinfects the surface; sulfur feeds the bacteria behind black layer.

✓  BC bioremediates through biofilm and breaks down to oxygen and water.

Growth flush

✕  Urea-buffered acids push soft, unwanted growth during remediation.

✓  No urea, no added nutrients, so the turf firms up instead of flushing.

Delivery

✕  Bulk deliveries and manual dosing that drift as flow changes.

✓  FS-1 reads your flow meter and syncs up to three pumps every cycle; no sensors to clean.

TESTING & PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

Test first. Then build the program.

Legacy Analytical runs your soil against your own irrigation water (4:1 ratio, 72-hour soak), so the prescription is sized from what the profile is actually doing.

01

Test

Irrigation Water Analysis, Bac T, Available Soil Nutrition, and Total Soil Digestion where reserves matter.

02

Analyze

Results go into the Legacy Analytical Ledger with every parameter categorized by severity; site water, acreage, and depth factored in.

03

Prescribe

Interpretations & Recommendations turn the ledger into a prescription: products, ppm dosages, cost per acre, and a timeline.

04

Treat

Chemistry injects automatically every irrigation cycle through the FS-1, with topical pHix where greens or tees need it.

05

Monitor

Retest with treated water (ASN – Treated Water) for a direct before-and-after comparison, then adjust.

FEATURED CASE STUDY · FLUSHING GREENS, GREEN #3, COUNTRY CLUB AT THE LEGENDS

A rebuild-candidate green reopened in 12 days: infiltration from 3.92 to 17.31 in/hr.

An independent evaluation of a sand-based green with hardpan, blackened anaerobic layers, and iron above 4,400 ppm under very strong acid testing. WaterSOLV Curative and BC were used as a dual-action remediation; bulk density in the 8–12 inch zone fell from 1.72 to 1.54 g/cc and air porosity improved. The study’s conclusion: this was not compaction, it was chemical contamination.
