What we collect

Contact and account information you give us: name, company, email address, phone number, and mailing or shipping address, when you submit a form, request an SDS or label, create a member account, or place an order.

Order information: the products or tests you buy, billing and shipping details, and order history. Payment card details are entered directly with the payment processor connected to our Wix checkout; HCT does not store full card numbers.

Analytical samples and site data: water and soil test results, site descriptions, acreage, well data and related notes you send us so we can prepare a Legacy Analytical ledger or a treatment recommendation.

Chat messages: questions you type into the on-site assistant ("Hu") and the answers it gives.

Technical and usage data collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, approximate location derived from IP address, and cookie identifiers.

How we collect it

Directly from you through forms, member registration, the online store, email, phone, and the on-site assistant. Automatically through cookies and similar technologies while you browse (see Cookies below).

Why we use it

To answer enquiries and SDS/label requests; to process and ship orders and analytical test kits; to prepare test ledgers, interpretations and recommendations; to run and secure the website and member area; to send service messages about your order or account; and, where you have agreed or where the law allows, to send information about HCT products and programs. You can opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.

Who processes it for us

Our website is built and hosted on Wix.com. The following Wix services and third-party tools process data on our behalf:

Wix (hosting, Wix Forms, Wix Stores and checkout, Wix Members Area, Wix Blog, site search, Wix analytics and site cookies).

The payment processor(s) connected to our Wix checkout, which handle card and payment data under their own terms.

The on-site assistant "Hu", provided through a third-party AI chat service (Chatbase). Information you type into Hu is transmitted to and processed by Chatbase in order to generate replies. Please do not enter confidential or sensitive information into Hu that you would not send by ordinary email; if your question involves such information, contact us directly instead. How long Hu conversations are stored, and where, is governed by that provider's configuration and its own privacy terms.

The dealer locator map (Located map app), which loads map tiles and may collect your approximate location if you allow it.

Embedded video players (YouTube and Vimeo), which set their own cookies when you play a video.

Email and shipping carriers used to deliver messages, orders and sample kits.

These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and, where applicable, by data-processing terms with HCT or Wix. We do not sell personal information.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This site uses essential cookies needed for security, checkout and member login; functional cookies that remember your preferences; and analytics cookies (Wix analytics) that help us understand how the site is used. Third-party embeds (video players, the chat assistant and the map) may set their own cookies. You can control cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

How long we keep it

Order, invoice and analytical records are kept for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Enquiry and chat records are kept while we handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Member accounts are kept until you close them. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you, subject to legal retention requirements.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy of your data in a portable form, and to opt out of marketing. To exercise these rights, email info@hctllc.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. California residents can also ask what categories of personal information we collect and how we use them; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising.

Children

This site is intended for business customers and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and hosted by Wix, which maintains its own security program. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; contact us if you believe your information has been compromised.

Changes

We review this policy periodically and post updates on this page with a new 'last updated' date.
