WaterSOLV™ pHix
WaterSOLV™ pHix is the combination product: the Curative and BC chemistries in one diluted, ready-to-apply formula for topical or targeted use. It exists because the two parent products are too reactive to mix at full strength, so pHix is applied at about four times the concentrate rate, topically or by injection, on the areas that need a quicker localized response.
Used in the WaterSOLV™ Turf & Ornamental and Agriculture programs · Problem greens and tees, localized dry spot, sealed surfaces, collection areas · Testing before treatment
WHAT IS WATERSOLV™ pHix?
Curative and BC together, made accessible.
pHix delivers the effects of both parent products in one application: converting scale to available nutrition, releasing bound nutrition, mitigating chloride and sodium salts, adding dissolved oxygen to the soil profile and restoring infiltration. It is compatible with most topically sprayed products, sprayers and acid injection pumps.
Because it is pre-diluted, pHix removes the barrier to entry for sites that are not set up to inject concentrates. Application rates are about four times those of the concentrates; HCT's topical application rate calculator app (iPhone and Android) sizes the rate to your water, your soil and your frequency of application. Expect a 30 to 90-day process to see the full impact.
PROBLEMS pHix ADDRESSES
Three situations where a topical response is the right first move.
WHERE pHix FITS
Targeted response inside a staged program.
pHix is the targeted-response product in both the Turf & Ornamental and Agriculture programs. Curative remains the core correction for the whole site; pHix is added where specific zones need a quicker surface response, or where a site cannot inject concentrates. Where biology is the main driver, BC on its own is the stronger fit.
TESTING BEFORE TREATMENT
Diagnose the area before you treat it.
Legacy Analytical testing sets the blend and the rate. For topical work HCT samples by soil layer rather than by average, because areas with infiltration and areas without can respond completely differently, and bacteria can consume pore space without showing in a standard analysis.
01
Tiered soil sampling
Available soil nutrition and total soil analysis from the problem zone, sampled by layer, show what is restricting the surface.
02
Irrigation water analysis
Bicarbonate, hardness, sodium and chloride in the water determine the chemistry the area keeps receiving.
03
Bacteria count
Shows whether the zone is biologically compromised, in which case BC is the stronger fit than pHix.
ON THE SURFACE
Better penetration
Water enters the treated zone instead of running off or ponding.
IN THE ZONE
Improved movement
Pore continuity returns through the treated depth.
FOR MANAGEMENT
A test before you escalate
A topical response tells you whether the whole site needs the full program.
IN THE FIELD
Where topical work has been used.
NEXT STEP
Find out whether a topical application is the right move.
HCT can review the problem areas, the water and a tiered soil sample and tell you whether pHix, the full irrigation program, or both is the right path. pHix is sold through authorized WaterSOLV™ dealers in 5-gallon pails (6-pail minimum order; pails can be mixed and matched), 30-gallon carboy drums, 55-gallon drums and 265-gallon totes.
