Well-Klean® Water Well Rehabilitation Solutions

May 30, 2017

Here is our program at a glance . . .

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Because Your Safety is our Top Priority - we offer a very powerful, aggressive and effective program for the remediation, and in some cases, restoration, of water wells. Our program is synergy between chemistry, processes and procedures, that yield the optimum and longest lasting results - that we know of.

Site must have potable water and wash stations.

WaterSOLV BC and WELL-KLEAN® PRE-BLEND:

A peroxide based and an HCl based solution. As concentrated as can be to optimize efficiency and logistics. The most effective remediation solutions we know of to date - chemistry that works, if we use them properly, and to their fullest extent.

That's Where it all Starts! The Assessment and Recommendations

How much chemistry, what processes, what procedures, what order, how much energy, how much soak time. Did we say neutralize and passivate downhole and do we have scientific proof that is the best process? Correct - we do not guess - we test. Tell us everything you can about your well, using our Discovery Questionnaire - provide us a downhole video (using our www.wetransfer.com service, or email us a video survey, and we'll write the most effective prescriptions to make your well healthy once again.

Our Cleaning Processes (General Guidelines that vary significantly from well to well)

Phase I - PRE-CLEANING

BRUSH WITH BIOCIDE (AND BAIL):

Let's get rid of as much loose debris as possible so we can utilize our chemistry and energy most effectively at, in and through the perforations. At the same time, let's be sure we prevent the spread of colonies of bacteria throughout the well. If you brush without a "biocide", or brush and then do not remediate, you'll spread the colonies throughout the well and your well will get colonized, even sooner. WaterSOLV BC is a biocide type cleaner, deep penetrating, and significantly more effective than disinfectants, chlorine and bio-dispersants. WaterSOLV BC, like any chemical, should be placed at prescribed zones via adequate tremie, then the well is brushed, and usually debris removed from the bottom.

WaterSOLV BC barely dissolves scale. WaterSOLV BC is designed to penetrate as well as mitigate bio matter.

Phase II - REMEDIATION

While it may seem redundant, nows the time to break down the polysaccharide and bio-matter latched on the the casing, at, near and within the  perforations and annulus with as much brushing and plunging and WaterSOLV BC, without compromising the well casing and perforations. Following treatment, soak time is typically diagnosed and runs from 12 to 36 hours.

Phase III - DESCALE

Now that we have broken down all the poly matter that bacteria produce to harbor their colonies, our descaler can now find its way to the scale and oxide deposits that block water flow. While scale dissolves readily, oxide scale, also referred to as iron scale, takes about 72 hours to finally fall apart. Well-Klean® - Pipe-Klean Pre-blend is typically placed into position by tremie, and left alone to work - no scrubbing or plunging necessary. Where scale is prevalent there is a 12 hour soak time. Where oxides are present, 72 hours soak time is prescribed.

Phase IV - NEUTRALIZE, DEVELOP AND PASSIVATE ALL IN ONE – “AND BAIL”:

Perhaps as important a phase as any - now's the time to make sure everything is broken down, loose and able to be flushed out of the well. At the same time, we'll neutralize any entrained chlorides, any free acid, and re-pickel the casing to prevent the reformation of iron oxide (a food source for bacteria). Significant plunging (and perhaps brushing) are prescribed at this phase.

Phase V - INSTALL PUMP - GRADUALLY DEVELOP THE WELL

Phase VI - PROPERLY DISINFECT THE WELL

Tools are Critical, from spiral wound brushes, poly and wire bristles, notched and V cut plunger discs.
