Convert Hard Water and Scale to Nutrient

Hard water doesn't need to hurt your plants or soil anymore! The untreated hard water leaves behind scale.  The water treated with WaterSOLV leaves behind that same scale.  But in the form of the while powder at the bottom of the beaker.  Same water.  Same scale.  Left untreated, it evaporates and the minerals complex and turn to crystals that plants are not able to utilize.  The treated water keeps all the minerals that are useful to the plant in powder form through ionization.  That's why these grapes just blew up. It's chemistry - we've found new ways to yield higher grade product and more yield with less water, nutrient and fertilizer. From hard water, water scale to caliche, simply bound up nutrients readily available as a nutrient when reacted with WaterSOLV at just a few parts per million.  This chemistry converts hard water to nutrients; a problem into an asset.

The Problems

  • The addition of chemistry, organics and inorganics, most of which are challenged getting through the soil profile to the root for plant uptake, and most of which gets complexed with existing matter in and on the soil, and most of which has limited impact on existing scale on soil, in drip lines, and when evaporated to dryness, for more scale that does not rehydrate, further adding to the problem.  

HCT’s Approach

We chemically exchange places with bicarbonate and add a proton to chloride converting once soluble salts to stable soluble salts that will not form scale and that can process through the environment – with water, through the soil, available to and through the plant – much like how our body deals with salt and minerals.  

Our approach is well defined in both chemistry, science and supported by research studies performed by UC Davis, funded by the Robert Mondavi Institute – don’t let water evaporate to dryness. The problems are uniform across the globe – water is a solvent as long as there is enough H2O to satisfy the amount of select minerals in water (as in calcium and silica).


As water readily evaporates, the minerals exceed their ability to stay dissolved, they begin to complex and form scale. Scale can also harbor salt and chloride, though both do a pretty good job complexing themselves with sodium. It takes a lot of rain or super mineral deficient water to resolubilize these micro/nano crystals. You can break carbonate down with acid, however acids make more insoluble types of scale and typically do not impact salt or chloride. More acid is prescribed year over year with poorer grow results. The binder of scale, the culprit, is carbonate and the binder of salt and chloride is sodium.


HCT’s solution takes the place of the carbonate rendering the ion stable, and adds a proton to stabilize the chloride. In turn, as the water evaporates, the newly formed ions remain ionic – they readily re-hydrate, transport through the soil profile with water, and are taken up by the plant and through the plant.  Should the plant get dehydrated, none of the nano ions in the plant will complex to retain heat, the vitality of the plant is robust.



These divisions began with insight to our chemistry operating like your body, where the water scale that you drink is converted to dissolved solids and exits your body in the form of sweat, mainly salt, and urine, mainly minerals. It began with potted plants, bushes and trees. Everything began bolstering with grow. The worse the soil, the harder the water, the better, as the ingredients deemed problematic were simply bound up nutrients released and made available by HCT’s chemistry. The second evaluation point was heat durability. Arizona desert outside plants, zero signs of heat stress, plants still pushing, nutrient demand and watering were reduced 10%. The same results were realized in agriculture, with a 10 and 20% increase in product yield and all grade 1 quality. Precipitated matter in the drip lines we diminishing. Emitter plugging doesn’t occur.
