Chlorine Causes Problems
Part I - WaterSOLV BC is highly effective remediating matter while suppressing corrosion.
Part II two – Acidized and rinsed mild steel coupons, one passivated, three not passivated. Unpassivated steel rusts readily generating available food source for iron bacteria. In descaling as a whole, including water steel casing of water wells, down-hole passivation after effective acidizing is essential.
Biocide, Biodispersant, Oxidizer, Chlorine, Disinfection
There was plenty of strong, available acid but the shells didn't dissolve due to biofilm and more specifically, polysaccharide. When bacteria are threatened, they produce polysaccharide, which is resistant to strong acids, chlorine, and surely biodispersants but not biocides!
You'd never have observed this biofilm on these shells as they looked, felt and appeared to be 100% carbonate bound scale and the shattered under the force of a hammer. Yet when dissolved in acid, the biomatter presented itself, blocking dissolution.
By dealing with the bio-film, underlying biology and underlying scale and or oxides (corrosion products), we can achieve thorough and longer lasting remediation in every application we serve. It's not just chemistry, it is also processes and procedures.

Corrosion Inhibition Properties - WaterSOLV BC
Testing different levels of inhibitor in 100,000 ppm peroxide (10% vol, 34% active, in distilled water). Mild steel coupons, two weeks exposure, rinsed with tap water, exposed to atmosphere. 10 to 13% vol. inhibitor proved extremely durable.
Mild steel coupons in 34% active peroxide, 10 and 20% inhibitor. Both coupons exposed to 60 deg. F temperature, then flushed with water and exposed to atmosphere. Excellent passivation, pickling layer formed.
